Revolution Vegan Kitchen

Tucked away in South Austin, Revolution Vegan Kitchen is more than just a plant-based spot—it’s where flavor meets laid-back vibes. Located at 7800 S 1st St, this local gem has carved out its own space in the vegan food scene, offering bold, creative dishes that even meat-lovers can’t resist.

You walk in and the atmosphere instantly hits: it’s chill, a little hipster, super casual. There’s outdoor seating perfect for breezy afternoons, and the quiet setup makes it ideal whether you’re grabbing lunch solo, wrangling kids, or hanging out with a group of friends. But let’s be honest—what really draws people here is the food.

Their menu is packed with flavor-forward options, but a few standouts steal the spotlight. The Al Pastor Taco is a fan favorite—juicy, spiced just right, and balanced with fresh toppings. Craving something heartier? The Texan Burger is a beast in the best way possible—stacked, satisfying, and impossible not to finish. And if you’re into classics with a twist, the Carnitas Taco and Barbacoa hit those smoky, savory notes you might’ve thought were impossible in vegan form. Spoiler: they nailed it.

What’s cool about Revolution Vegan Kitchen is that it doesn’t try too hard. It’s confident in what it serves and delivers every time. The staff? Super friendly and laid-back. The vibe? Effortlessly cool without being pretentious. And the food? Let’s just say it might convert a few skeptics.

Whether you're plant-based or just plant-curious, Revolution Vegan Kitchen keeps things simple, satisfying, and seriously good.

I actually questioned whether the food was really VEGAN, its THAT good. Ive tried several items and have loved every one. Ive heard from meat eaters, that they also love this food.

Located in Thicket Food Park, this spot offers some seriously delicious vegan food! While vegan dishes can be hit or miss, the Al Pastor taco and flautas were absolutely amazing. Their menu is packed with exciting options, and I'll definitely be coming back to try their burgers!

So yummy! Super glad there is a fully vegan option at Thicket :) I got the taco, which were pretty yummy, but their burgers also looked super good!

Food is good but pricey. The food trailer is easy to order from. I was a disappointed with the portion size for the price, in all honesty. Wanted more food than was provided. Good to know that the vegan Mac n cheese is made fresh and we had to wait for a fresh batch to be made. It was tasty; also had the burger with "bacon" and it was good. It's a great location in the woods off south 1st. Great ambiance! Music, playground and shaded tables.
